Day Nine
Monday, October 14, 2024
Lisa: We were grateful to be traveling eastward, as the mile markers, which had started around 40 miles behind us, ticked us down to Mile Zero. It was a bittersweet day. By that point, nine miles seemed like nothin’.
Marianne: It didn’t seem possible this would be our last day of hiking the trail. It had gone by so fast. I was amazed we had accomplished this task that seemed so impossible when we were planning it. Mile Zero = Mile 124.84.
Osawatomie
We took photos of every mile marker counting down. As we got closer and closer to done, the more it seemed a good idea to just turn around and walk the whole way back.
